The Kentucky Horse Council will host their one-day Livestock Investigation Training on October 23, 2024, in Stanford, Kentucky, at the Blue Grass Stockyards South - Stanford. This course is offered to animal control officers, sheriffs, Kentucky law enforcement officials and prosecutors, and those running equine rescue and adoption organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Enrollment is prioritized to law enforcement officers; prosecutors and judges; animal control officers,humane investigators and veterinarians employed or contracted with a government agency in Kentucky (sheriff, police, health department, etc.). The class is FREE for these participants.
Attendees will learn how to:
understand equine behavior
handle horses safely
identify equine anatomy and assess body condition score
identify situations that need intervention
apply Kentucky statutes to animal-associated court cases
examine Kentucky statutes and enforcement procedures.
