Finance: The Finance Committee oversees the management of KHC assets, including routinely reviewing financial procedures and processes, maximizing returns on cash investments, establishing the desired level of funding with a 5 year horizon, and assessing funding sources and recommending additional sources of funding. Members of this committee include the Board Treasurer (chair) and other Board members (limited to board members).

Health & Welfare: The KHC Health & Welfare Committee is charged with developing programs and educational material to support the health and welfare of Kentucky horses. Members of the committee are representatives from the health and welfare industries. Each member of the committee is either affiliated with or employed by an organization that provides health and humane services and oversight such as the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, Kentucky Animal Care and Control Association, Kentucky Humane, and etc. The committee also works with legislators and state agency staff to educate them about the unique needs of Kentucky’s equines.

Fundraising and Development: The Fundraising and Development Committee is responsible for fundraising and development of the finances of the organization

Outreach and Education: The Outreach Committee is tasked with providing information and education to both horse owners and non-horse owners. The Outreach Committee defines and implements educational programs through offerings in the classroom, online, publications, and at events. In addition, the Outreach Committee promotes youth involvement with horses by providing educational information, programs, and youth awards. 

Marketing and Sponsorship: The Marketing and Sponsorship Committee determines all events and organizations the KHC will sponsor for the year as well as sets advertising priorities and handles all promotional items.
